Thanks! It started with just the buttons, as I was pondering on the design I was messing with an elastic hair tie on my desk and ta-da... Inspiration! :)

You're most wellcome! ^^
I love how your designs reflect the "atmosphere" around each character and their movies, instead of simply using the most "obvious" visual references. For example, I like how Jane's shoe isn't yellow like her dress - instead, it has those lovely buttons, a detail that says "Jane" AND also "victorian style". And the subtle leopard print? Another reference to the movie setting!

Anyway, please keep up the great work!

I started my brainstorming with the buttons in my head - I considered going away from the "spat" idea entirely, but it just looked so neat :) Thank you!

The shape of the heel is interesting, reminiscent of the shape of late 19th century/early 20th century heels but much taller. My favorite detail is the single leather piece extending down the counter to the heel; although the description only says the shoe is inspired by Jane (and not a historical design), I could imagine a designer before the days of modern materials using something like this leather piece to reinforce a towering wooden heel and make it somewhat safe to wear (for a brave person at least).

Thank you! I wanted to modernize the spat boot style (and I can't resist a towering heel). I really liked working on that leather piece on the back, the texture of this shoe was a lot of fun to work on :)
